2 Chronicles 30: 1-13

1 Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the Lord at Jerusalem to keep the Passover to the Lord, the God of Israel. 2 For the king and his princes and all the assembly in Jerusalem had taken counsel to keep the Passover in the second month— 3 for they could not keep it at that time because the priests had not consecrated themselves in sufficient number, nor had the people assembled in Jerusalem— 4 and the plan seemed right to the king and all the assembly. 5 So they decreed to make a proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, that the people should come and keep the Passover to the Lord, the God of Israel, at Jerusalem, for they had not kept it as often as prescribed. 6 So couriers went throughout all Israel and Judah with letters from the king and his princes, as the king had commanded, saying, “O people of Israel, return to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that he may turn again to the remnant of you who have escaped from the hand of the kings of Assyria. 7 Do not be like your fathers and your brothers, who were faithless to the Lord God of their fathers, so that he made them a desolation, as you see. 8 Do not now be stiff-necked as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the Lord and come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever, and serve the Lord your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you. 9 For if you return to the Lord, your brothers and your children will find compassion with their captors and return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.”

10 So the couriers went from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, and as far as Zebulun, but they laughed them to scorn and mocked them. 11 However, some men of Asher, of Manasseh, and of Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem. 12 The hand of God was also on Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the princes commanded by the word of the Lord.

13 And many people came together in Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the second month, a very great assembly.

Hezekiah sent out messengers to Israel and Judah inviting people to the Passover celebration. This summer Jesus sent more than two hundred messengers to the ports of the western Mediterranean Sea inviting North Africans to His Passover. Invitations came through New Testaments, Magdalena and JESUS Film DVDs, Josh McDowell’s More than a Carpenter, and children’s Wonder Books along with words spoken by the participants who were trained to witness with a Muslim.

The messengers went forth with authority. Often local officials stood opposed, but Jesus, “who opens doors that no one can shut” and who sent the messengers with “all authority in heaven and earth,” enabled many to continue to receive the “invitations” to the Passover Lamb.

Many North Africans who were offered the “invitations”, “laughed them to scorn”; often hindering other North Africans from accepting. Yet, as seen by the numbers distributed and the stories of the next column, “some men… humbled themselves” accepting packets. A good number of these indicated receiving Christ into their lives.

The stories that follow include the on-going witness of people impacted by previous years’ outreach. No one knows the date of Jesus’ return. It looks to be soon. Soon or not, when we meet in heaven there will be “a very great assembly” among which will be countless North Africans.

Un homme a demandé à un distributeur ce qu'elle proposait. Il s'est intéressé, a rencontré des chrétiens locaux et nord-africains et a commencé à fréquenter l'église. Aujourd'hui, il vit dans son pays d'origine, toujours un témoin clair du Seigneur.

Une femme avec plusieurs enfants a refusé les documents jusqu’à ce qu’elle voie le livre des merveilles des enfants. Puis elle a accepté le paquet entier.

Un jeune homme qui a entendu l'Évangile assis sur un trottoir a prié de manière convaincante une prière pour recevoir le Christ en espagnol et en arabe.

Dans un terminal portuaire, une femme sourit et hocha la tête en écoutant l'Évangile. Elle a répété la prière à haute voix, indiquant avoir reçu Jésus-Christ.

Un chauffeur avec une cargaison de voyageurs a accepté avec empressement un DVD de JESUS en entendant pourquoi Dieu a envoyé Jésus. Trois passagers ont refusé, mais en entendant comment Jésus a pardonné au distributeur, l'un d'eux a tendu la main pour prendre un paquet.

Deux femmes ont accepté le cadeau après avoir entendu une explication de ce que c'était. Alors que le distributeur s'éloignait, ils ont ouvert le paquet, ont jeté un coup d'œil à l'intérieur du Nouveau Testament, puis l'ont rangé dans leurs bagages.

Deux jeunes hommes ont refusé un paquet, l'un disant qu'il l'avait déjà et l'autre expliquant pourquoi il ne le prendrait pas. Le distributeur leur a montré Jean 1: 1-14. Ému, le deuxième homme a pris 'Plus qu'un Charpentier'.

Trois hommes d'âges différents dans un terminal bondé, poussés par les paquets les plus anciens et acceptés. Un plus tard a retourné le cadeau; il avait trop à porter. Il s'est allumé, cependant, lorsque le distributeur lui a remis un DVD.

Une femme a écouté avec joie les évangélistes, se tenant la main pendant qu'ils parlaient. Elle ne savait pas lire, alors les évangélistes ont expliqué le DVD de JESUS. Elle prévoyait de le regarder une fois de retour en Afrique du Nord.

Deux adolescents ont indiqué avoir reçu le Christ lorsque des voisins espagnols ont partagé l'Évangile avec eux. Les Espagnols avaient récemment appris à témoigner dans la puissance du Saint-Esprit. Quatre hommes nord-africains ont également partagé leur foi avec audace après une formation similaire en arabe.

Trois adolescents ont écouté l'Évangile après que l'un d'eux a dit avoir lu le Nouveau Testament en ligne. Un autre avait le Nouveau Testament et a dit qu'il avait reçu le Christ en le lisant. Le troisième a invité le Christ dans sa vie pendant qu'ils parlaient.

Un couple, lors de leur marche de verrouillage de phase 1, a entendu de la musique arabe depuis une voiture garée. Ils ont offert un paquet qui a été accepté de manière décisive.

Un homme se rendant à un repas de fin de Ramadan a refusé le paquet. Lorsqu'on lui a offert une clé USB, il a changé, l'acceptant avec une appréciation abondante.

Un jeune homme lisait le Wonder Book sur des marches isolées.

Deux hommes assis, l'un utilisant son téléphone, acceptaient les clés USB. L'utilisateur du téléphone a mentionné Jésus au téléphone et à l'autre homme.

Dans une grande ville, après avoir entendu l’histoire personnelle d’un distributeur, une journaliste nord-africaine et son amie ont pris la décision de recevoir le Christ.

Un homme a cherché à lire une présentation de l'Évangile. Un homme a essayé de le dissuader. Le distributeur a ensuite partagé l’importance de l’Évangile à l’aide de son histoire. L'homme a tenu bon et un jeune homme à proximité a accepté un paquet.

Une femme a accepté un paquet, mais, à cause de Covid-19, a soudainement semblé effrayée. Elle prit des mouchoirs et attrapa le paquet avec eux.

Un vendeur d'un marché aux puces a commencé à lire son Nouveau Testament. Quelqu'un a attrapé ses livres, les jetant au-delà de la guérison. Le distributeur a donné au vendeur une clé USB, pour son plus grand plaisir.

Une femme a ri de joie en obtenant le Nouveau Testament, le DVD de JESUS, Plus qu'un charpentier et le livre des merveilles.

Une femme a accepté un paquet sans hésitation et en a demandé un deuxième à donner à un ami. Elle a alors commencé à lire.

Un homme a parlé positivement d'avoir un paquet avant. Il a accepté une clé USB pour écouter l'audio du film JESUS.
